FIDOS Mission Statement:
The FIDOS PhilosophyPeople in Boulder value open space. You don't need to travel to Europe to see what land without undeveloped space looks like. Over much of the United States, you cannot see a natural landscape. It is a tribute to Colorado that its citizens value the natural environment. FIDOS believes that humans and their animals can coexist with the natural ecology. People and their dogs tend to stay on or along side of trails when they visit open areas. Careful placement of trails provides wildlife with ample undisturbed areas and connects people to nature. FIDOS supports the continued acquisition of open space for both people and our wild neighbors. We support environmental stewardship. Focusing access through trails protects wild areas and brings joy to both dogs and people. FIDOS supports voice and sight access for dogs as public lands are acquired. Responsible dog guardians enjoy open space with minimal impact on the native environment. Humans and dogs have evolved together for 10,000 years. Our bond is strong and free. |
